Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Introduction to Teaching, third edition, introduces beginning education students to the real world of teaching, providing education students with an honest look at the students, classrooms, and schools they’ll encounter. Three themes central to teaching today-- professionalism, diversity, and decision-making-- are woven through the text to give students deeper understanding of the teaching profession and to better prepare them for that profession. Two questions frame the text, “Do I want to be a teacher?” and “What kind of teacher do I want to become?”. Case studies at the beginnings of chapters provide a frame of reference for understanding chapter content while numerous teaching vignettes throughout the chapters provide vivid examples that increase reader understanding and interest.

3 out of 5 stars Introduction to Teaching   November 17, 2009
Sonni Harris (Salt Lake City, UT USA)
So far, the book is fine. It's a textbook, so it's not the most scintillating read, but it seems to be suiting its purpose. The shipping took quite a while. When I researched it by tracking number, I found out that it had been processed in the postal office in Bell, California. Came to discover that that is the same spot where the Oscar statuettes were stolen a few years ago, and also where the Oscar ballots were misrouted. Hhhmmmmm.......

2 out of 5 stars Not exactly 'brand new'   October 24, 2009
Corinna T. Demyers (Galveston, TX)
The book is NOT brand new. The cover is dog eared a little and likewise the pages. It's not in horrible shape but it's NOT pristine brand new either.
