Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Introduction to Teaching, third edition, introduces beginning education students to the real world of teaching, providing education students with an honest look at the students, classrooms, and schools they'll encounter. Three themes central to teaching today-- professionalism, diversity, and decision-making-- are woven through the text to give students deeper understanding of the teaching profession and to better prepare them for that profession. Two questions frame the text, "Do I want to be a teacher?" and "What kind of teacher do I want to become?". Case studies at the beginnings of chapters provide a frame of reference for understanding chapter content while numerous teaching vignettes throughout the chapters provide vivid examples that increase reader understanding and interest. "Classroom Windows" videos and an interactive website provide opportunities for active student involvement and realistic looks at the world of teaching. NEW! Introduction to Teaching: Becoming a Professional now includes a 6-month access code to our robust Teacher Prep Website. Really nice. Can be a little heavy at times. Using it along with an online resource and they complement each other very well.

5 out of 5 stars Fabu---loows!   April 21, 2007

A bit pricey, but worth it.

Pictures, theory, examples, activities to practice, delegation of techniques for each curriculum area, and applicable to all levels.

Need we buy anything else?

A used copy is just as good as the new one for almost $60 less.
