4 out of 5 stars Great book.   August 24, 2010

Good service, quick delivery and great book, all in all.
I got it to prepare for USMLE step 1 and liked it, not only the medical content but also appreciated the introduction part with tips and hints.

5 out of 5 stars Essential!   August 21, 2010

I've been using this book now for the first 2 weeks of my second year and I'm loving it. Whenever I'm getting confused on a topic, I pull out First Aid for the "big picture" then go back to the lecture. Our school does a lot of small group learning and I've found this + Robbins to be great for preparing for those sessions.

Good stuff!

5 out of 5 stars good book   July 25, 2010

I bought new (not used) book. It's nice, pages are not too thin and pictures are really bright.
There is enough space on pages if you'd like to write/add your own notes :-) I like the cover, it does seem to be made for repeated flipping!

This edition has Efficient preparation section that was missing in some previous years. I think it's a very good section that was out for several years.

5 out of 5 stars Helped me score >240   July 13, 2010

Use this book as an outline - after every question in USMLEWorld, look up the section in First Aid and write down any details not in the book. After going through enough questions, you'll find that everything you need to know will be there. Also, use sticky tabs and mark each section so you can flip to any factoid you want within seconds.

3 out of 5 stars great book- but not for the kindle   July 6, 2010

I bought this in both the hard copy edition and the kindle edition so I'd always have it with me, and because some of the text is in graphic form, you can't increase the font size- so you can't read it. amazon gave me a refund for the kindle edition, and i'm just using the paper copy.
