5 out of 5 stars Fun Way To Expand Your Knowledge   May 26, 2010
Thom (Indy, USA)
I love this book. I made my first solo trip to Mexico in 1972. I knew a few verbs and spent the next six months learning Spanish out of necessity and by the seat of my pants. This book allows me to expand my knowledge of Spanish in a very fun way using what I already know. I'm going to Guatemala next month and cannot wait to use the new tools presented in this book.

Tip: You get much more respect if you do your best to use the language properly.

I love the teaching style of this Spanish primer. It brings you gently but firmly, with plenty of exercises, to a real grasp of Spanish.

5 out of 5 stars Unbeleivably GOOD!   May 4, 2010

To say I was happy with this book is an understatement. It is unbelievably helpful. The author really does have some sort of magic in knowing how to teach Spanish not only in a very practical way, but a fun way! She just makes it simple. It's unlike any 'textbook' you'll ever purchase. You'll find yourself learning almost without being aware of it! You'll never be sorry you bought this book and like me, you'll be happy to recommend it to others wanting to learn Spanish. 5 stars indeed!

5 out of 5 stars this is the best book I've come across!   May 2, 2010

I had read good things about this book, and that is why I purchased it. However, this book has more than surpassed my expectations, and is brilliant!

The concept of learning the preterit-tense first is incredibly valuable, and is a nice change from learning six tenses of each verb under study (ie. the textbook method). The book is also interesting reading, and some of the conversations in Spanish are funny (Roberto es terrible).

This book is an absolute must have for anybody interested in learning Spanish.

5 out of 5 stars Another great book   April 15, 2010

I love this book. Even though I've used my spanish off and on for years, conjugation has always been difficult for me. It explains the difference between the conjugations and gets you right into the past tense which we seem to use more often. It's made it much easier for me. And I love the idea of the flash cards and the practice writing so you can get used to writing it for yourself. Plus all the little tips are great.
